Body Grace was founded by Denise Gracie in 2014, after gaining her Level 3 Pilates Mat qualification with Pilates Union UK, accredited by Central YMCA qualifications and Skills Active.
In 2017, Denise added the BarreConcept method to her portfolio which combines Ballet, Yoga and Pilates into one workout.
Denise is a member of the Chartered Institute for the Management of Sport and Physical Activity(CIMSPA) and is also qualified in using various Pilates Apparatus and small types of equipment as well as being qualified in the BarreFloor method also.
Denise retrained as Pilates teacher after having her second child, when she discovered how Pilates transformed her lower back pain, brought on by sitting for long periods while working in an office based environment.
Denise believed Pilates had been instrumental in relieving her symptoms and quickly developed a desire to become fully qualified herself so that she could share the benefits of the regime, having always had an interest in working with and helping others.
Having competed in Highland Dancing all through her youth, the transition into Pilates, which originally originated within the dance community was a natural progression for Denise, which then led her down the path towards the BarreCocncept method.
Denise runs several mixed ability Pilates and BarreConcept classes, as well as specific classes for the over 60s age group, all within Aberdeenshire, having organically grown her Business due to growing demand and her continued passion for helping others.
In 2017, Denise featured in Aberdeen’s Trend Magazine, having been approached by them due to the popularity of her classes.
As well as group classes, Denise also offers private lessons.
Denise is currently undertaking a 200 hour yoga teacher training course with Union Yoga UK, accredited by Yoga Alliance. Once fully qualified, Denise plans to add some yoga classes to her timetable also, together with meditation and mindfulness workshops.
